TOVP group visits Banabehari Mandir

Categories: Yamuna

Hare Krishna!

By Sri Sri Radha Banabehari’s sweet will, the TOVP travelling promoters visited Banabehari Mandir in Sarangati! It was not planned for, and we still don’t know who/when/where this idea came from, but the group took 24 hours out of their schedule to take the long trip here.

The TOVP group consisted of HG Jananivasa prabhu, HG Radha Jivan prabhu, HG Samika Rsi prabhu, and HG Vraja Vilasa prabhu, and they were escorted from Vancouver by HG Damodari Hari prabhu.

Upon their arrival, the group immediately went to Banabehari Mandir, alone, just to take in the devotional energy there. We were so happy that Jananivasa prabhu could be there, since he has been so kind to the Unalloyed project – officiating Yamuna Devi’s samadhi ceremony, speaking at her disappearance anniversary in Vrindavan, sharing his memories of being in India with Yamuna Devi in 1971-74, and even supplying Yamuna’s own personal Vyasa Puja offering from 1972, which he had preserved. He said he could certainly perceive the palpable devotion there at the Mandir.

Then a couple hours later, the group returned, this time with Lord Nityananda’s sandals and Lord Narasimhadeva’s helmet. The entire community greeting them at Banabehari Mandir with kirtan and a shower of flower petals. Their Lordships were brought into the temple room, where they were offered abhisek and more kirtan. Then the group spoke about the TOVP project, and mysteriously collected $30,000 from the very economically challenged community of Saranagati. Lastly, prasadam was served.

The next morning the TOVP group spoke to the students at Govardhan Academy, telling their life stories and their heartfelt advice to the younger devotees. And then they were on their way back to Vancouver to continue their worldwide tour.

We felt enormously blessed to have Their Lordships here, and the sadhus as well. It was uplifting for the while community, and it was wonderful to have such an auspicious event at Banabehari Mandir.

Here are some pictures of the event:
